The built-in Tasks application (known as the To Do List in older systems) is typically used to enter solitary tasks that must be accomplished. Once accomplished, the tasks are checked-off and forgotten about. In contrast, Checklist is used to create permanent lists of action items that can be used again and again--for example, a shopping list.
It depends. Until recently, everything about Checklist was free.
The Palm component continues to be free. If you are not concerned about having the extra processing power and convenience of creating and editing on your PC, being able to hotsync back and forth between the two, or being able to print lists, then there is no cost to simply use the program on your Palm.
Beginning with PC version 1.53, the PC components for Checklist are shareware. You may use these components free for 30 days. After that, you are asked to pay a modest amount to license the program. The registered PC components allow you to:
